Which college wrote early fundamental and influential rules for soccer?

The world’s most popular sport has a unique history. It can be referred to as “The beautiful game”. However, this sport is usually referred to as Football in most parts of the world but in some countries, it’s referred to as Soccer, but where do these words even come from?

Everything started during the 3rd century BCA in China. They had a sport which they decided to call “cuju” meaning “kick ball”. Over the ages, many types of football spread around the world eventually finding their place in England. It became especially popular with aristocratic English schoolboys who decided that it was about time to define the proper rules of the game.

That happened on the 26th of October 1863 the leaders of a dozen English football clubs met at the Freemason’s Tavern in London to create a rulebook. By doing so, they created The Football Association but because there were different versions of the game around the world, and a new group created another rulebook in 1871 which stated that hands can be used.

This new form of football is known as Rugby Football.

Named after the Rugby School in England. Then the names of the two different types of football were modified to Rugger and Soccer creating two different sports. Football was getting more and more popular until it found it’s way to the United States where they already had a sport called Football.

So for the United States and a few other countries like Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and even Japan decide to stick to the name Soccer due to already having a sport named Football. It doesn’t matter how you decide to call it. This sport allows people to forget everything and enjoy the moment. That’s why the phrase “The beautiful game„ perfectly describes everything about this incredible sport.
